Haddock in Faroese waters (ICES Division Vb and the southern part of Division IIa) are believed to comprise a single stock unit (‘Faroe haddock’), and is managed as such (ICES, 2014b). However, harvest limits do not precisely reflect the Faroe stock unit as defined (there is a set TAC for Faroe haddock that covers ICES Divisions Vb and VIa while the EU waters of Division IIa are included in the set TAC for Division IV). Further, the Vb/VIa TAC does not apply to the Faroese fleet, which takes the vast majority of the harvest.
