SPECIES NAME(s)

Octopuses nei, (multispecies)

Gurita

This is a multi-species profile for the genus Octopus spp. caught by small-scale fisheries throughout Indonesian waters. Several octopus species are commercially exploited including Octopus vulgaris (Tarigan et al. 2019)(Faskanu 2019), Octopus ocellatus (MMAF 2014) and Octopus cyanea (Cripps and Harris 2018). Although the big blue octopus (Octopus cyanea) is regarded as one of the most commercially important species (Evayani, 2004), octopus catches are not disaggregated by species in official catch records (MMAF Indonesia 2022)

ANALYSIS
