Bigeye scad has a circumtropical distribution, in the Indo-Pacific, Western and Eastern Atlantic regions (Froese and Pauly, 2011). The stock structure is not known but a stock assessment was conducted in the Andaman Sea (Sumontha et al., 2013). The map regards the distribution of the species in Thai waters in the Andaman Sea.
