The red cusk-eel Genypterus chilensis (Guichenot, 1848) is found in the Southeast Pacific: southern Peru to southern Chile. It is a fish demanded by the Chilean market, catches have remained under 1,000 ton per year in the decade 2000-2010. Red cusk-eel is found from southern Peru and Ecuador to southern Chile (Froese and Pauly 2016). The stock structure of this species is unkown.
