Stock structure and migration rates for Jonah Crab are highly uncertain. While the range for the species is Florida to Newfoundland, the commercial fishery is normally found from Nova Scotia to Virginia. This profile covers the US portion of this commercial fishery and a management unit is assumed from Maine through Virginia (ASMFC 2015). It should be noted that Jonah crab is generally targeted while pursuing other species, notably the American lobster.
