Pacific harvestfish Peprilus medius, is a benthopelagic species of warm waters with restricted distribution from Gulf of California and Peruvian waters, as presented in map (Froese and Pauly 2016). It is an important fishery in Equador mainly targeted by purse seine fleet, and is also common to be represented in trawl fishery. Most of the existing assessments are from Peruvian authorities, not including Equador jurisdiction on this resource.
