Blue crab Callinectes sapidus native distribution range is from Western Atlantic, but has been introduced in the eastern Atlantic, North Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Adriatic Sea, Black Sea and Indo-Pacific. A single population is considered to exist in the Thermaic Gulf, NE Greece (Kevrekidis et al., 2013).
